Dear Member,

In light of the current situation with the Coronavirus, LAPWD has been in contact with the HSE to ensure we are taking all necessary steps to help reduce the spread of the virus.

Enclosed, please find helpful advice designed to provide you with information regarding the virus itself and the actions you should take to help prevent the spread of the virus.

As you will see the main preventative action recommended is effective hand washing. We have also communicated to all our Leaders regarding the actions required to minimise the spread of the virus.

The symptoms of the coronavirus are:

  • A cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Fever (high temperature)

If you have symptoms associated with the Coronavirus, are diagnosed with the virus, or have been in direct contact with somebody who has been diagnosed with the virus, please ensure that you make contact with your GP by phone immediately. Also please make contact by phone with the LAPWD Manager as a matter of urgency.

We wish to assure you that LAPWD will follow the advice and guidance of the HSE with regards to delivering services and supporting service users during this time. As this is a fast-moving situation LAPWD will continue to monitor the situation and provide you with further advice and updates, as and when required.

We have our annual fun run on this Sunday the 15th September 2019.

It is a 5km Run/ Walk/ Roll event and everyone is welcome to take part. Registration is on from 11.30am starting and 12 noon at LAPWD's Action Ability Centre, Station Rd Mohill.

This event is €10 per person or €20 per family.
