Since being established in 1996, LAPWD has become a leading provider of quality services to people with disabilities in County Leitrim. Our core aim empower people with disabilities to achieve independence, self-determination, choice and control over their own lives.
LAPWD was founded by a group of people with disabilities to promote the Philosophy of Independent Living and to put that philosophy into practice.
In 2008, LAPWD opened the Action Ability Centre in Mohill, Co. Leitrim. This is not only our head office, but also a top-quality accessible centre for all LAPWD activities.
We are a non-profit organisation registered as a charity.
